Adequate and efficient infrastructure is key to the economic development of the State. Goal 9 of the SDGs is to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation. We are committed to adopting global best practices in upgrading existing infrastructure and building new economic infrastructure to help improve the quality of life and provide affordable costof living to residents of Lagos.

We will:

▪ Utilise the private sector in the provision of infrastructure and delivery of services, which will ultimately lead to job creation;

▪ Encourage continued private sector investment by providing incentives to facilitate the availabilityof adequate, regular and clean power supply in our State;

▪ Create a new focus on housing for low income groups through collaboration with private sector organisations and enterprises, while also enhancing the access of medium and upper income groups to housing through improved site and services schemes;

▪ Ensure the implementation of a revised transportation Master Plan, with defined frameworks for private sector participation. This will include an Integrated and Multi-nodal Mass Transit Scheme that exploits our State's rich and extensive aquatic endowments, improves the quality and coverage of our road network; and upgrades our rail network;

▪ Pass local content legislation to enforce 10% participation of residents and small businesses in large-scale State projects. This will be achieved through employment, sub-project and/or training opportunities. Female-owned businesses and businesses owned by people living with disabilities would particularly be encouraged.
